DELIVERED - It’s All in His Blood
Your redemption and deliverance from evil and darkness are not because of what you did; they are a result of the Blood—the precious blood of Jesus. We sing in our services, “There is power in the blood, wonder-working power,” but just to sing it is not enough. You need to get a revelation of what the Blood has provided in your life. You are redeemed by the Blood, justified by the Blood, made nigh to God by the Blood, protected by the Blood, given every promise of God— by the Blood! Let the power of His blood be more than just a song to you; let it be a reality that you live in daily! The Blood has delivered and redeemed you—so live delivered and redeemed!
Delivered - You Rule
You Rule
. . . who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood. —Colossians 1:13–14
In this new Kingdom, you have redemption. You have been plucked out of bondage, out of a life of defeat, and translated into a life of victory. You have gone from victim to victor, from the tail to the head, from being under to being over. There was an immediate positional change for you in the Spirit. Unless your mind becomes renewed to your new position, potential, and place in God, you will live in darkness, even though you have been delivered and redeemed. Why not take advantage of what Jesus paid for on the cross and start to live as a person who has been redeemed and delivered? Today, read Romans 5:17 and then remind yourself of what it says: I now rule and reign in this life.
DELIVERED - Light Will Always Prevail
Light Will Always Prevail
Read Colossians 1:12–14.
. . . who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. —Colossians 1:13
Darkness has ruled over mankind since the fall of Adam, but when Jesus came and shed His own blood, darkness was defeated. You no longer have to live a life of bondage to the curse or to circum- stances. You have been translated out of one kingdom into another. In this new Kingdom, you have a new King—Jesus Christ, who now dominates in your life. He has given you life and life more abundantly. As you learn to yield to and obey your new King, you will start to prosper in your life! His goal is that you “prosper and be in health, even as [your] soul prospereth” (3 John 2). This will happen as your soul comes out of darkness into the light through the knowledge of the Word of God. The more light you allow in through the Word, the more darkness you will be set free from. Take the apostle Paul’s advice to Timothy as advice to you from God today: “Study [the word of truth] to shew thyself approved” (2 Timothy 2:15, emphasis added).
Delivered - It’s a Past-Tense Verb
. . . who hath delivered us from the power of darkness . . . —Colossians 1:13
When you received Jesus into your life and became born again, so much more than just a change of eternal destiny took place. Yes, you are now on your way to heaven, but the power of the blood of Jesus provided much more. The Word declares that you have been delivered, set free, and rescued from the power of darkness. Notice that this is an immediate positional change from being under the power of darkness one moment to instantly being delivered from it. If you are born again, you are delivered from darkness—from demons, fear, sickness, and poverty. You have been delivered from the entire curse that came on mankind through Adam’s sin. You may not look delivered, feel delivered, or be living a delivered lifestyle, but you have been delivered, and that deliverance is available to you today! Say it to yourself often: “I have been delivered!”
